Where it started
Habita began in September 2025 at “Boost ton idée!”, an entrepreneurship bootcamp run by the CEE-UQAC, where our team won second prize. We didn’t stop there: the idea became a concrete project, and it keeps evolving.
The problem
Before building the engine, we ran market research with more than 110 respondents. Their answers became the product requirements and fed the business plan. Habita starts in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, with the rest of Quebec as the next market.
What I built
- The machine-learning matching engine: compatibility scoring between roommates, and pairing between landlords and tenants, and between listings and candidates.
- Built as a FastAPI service, deployed on our own servers. It turns onboarding answers into a behavioural profile, forms compatible groups and explains every matching decision.
- An interactive prototype, online at monhabita.com, with a French/English interface partly implemented.
My role
Founder and Product/AI Lead. I ran the market research, wrote the business plan, built and coordinate a team of six, present the product to prospective partners, and own the roadmap.
Status
The product is in active development and the company is being incorporated.
